Tralee town centre closed for a week for Feile Tra Li
Tralee closes its centre for almost a week for Feile Tra Li, the street festival that runs alongside the Rose of Tralee.
The R875 Bridge Street, The Mall and The Square are fully closed from 6am on Thursday 13 August to 6am on Wednesday 19 August 2026, for street entertainment and market stalls.
The festival itself runs from Friday 14 to Tuesday 18 August, inside that wider closure window. Organisers say the entire street programme is free of charge, which is the point of the festival rather than a detail of it, so there is nothing to book and nothing to pay for.
Tralee is not on the Ring of Kerry, but it matters for two practical reasons. It is where a lot of Ring visitors arrive, by train or from Kerry Airport, and it is the town many people drive through on the way to Killorglin. For that week, route around the centre and allow extra time.
The other thing worth knowing is beds. Between Feile Tra Li, the Rose of Tralee and Puck Fair, the middle two weeks of August fill accommodation across the whole county. If you are driving the Ring in that window, book well ahead.
