Kerry International Film Festival
Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October 2026, the 27th edition, as published by the festival. The full programme launches on 22 September.
Runs every year
The Kerry International Film Festival returns to Killarney for its 27th edition, running Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October 2026. It brings Irish and international features, documentaries and shorts, alongside talks and industry sessions, and it is a working festival rather than a tourist event.
The programme is spread across venues in Killarney, with the festival's related strands reaching Tralee too, so it is worth picking screenings before you pick a base. The full programme launches on 22 September, about three weeks out, which is the point to book anything popular.
October is the quiet argument for going. Kerry is cheaper and emptier than in August, the light on the Ring is at its best, and a festival gives the evenings somewhere to be. Killarney is walkable between venues and has the beds, so it works as a base for the loop as well as the films.
