Cyclists on the Ring this Saturday as two triathlons run the same day
The Hardman cycles the full Ring of Kerry and the Lost Sheep races out of Kenmare, both on Saturday 29 August. Only one road closes, Pier Road in Kenmare from 7am to 4.30pm, but expect cyclists on the loop all day.

Ballinskelligs beach reopens for swimming as the sewage notice lifts
Kerry County Council lifted the bathing prohibition at Ballinskelligs on Thursday 20 August, after testing confirmed excellent water quality. Lifeguards are back on duty and the beach is open for swimming again.

A Waterville brewery just won Ireland's best wood-aged beer
McGill's took gold at the World Beer Awards for An Coirean, its barrel-aged imperial stout, and a silver for Puffin Island. The brewery is on the N70 a couple of kilometres north of Waterville, and it runs tours.
